Create Simple Photo Collages With Ease On Windows 8 With Cool Collage

Photo Collages are nice. No wait, they are great in fact. You can stick all your favorites images over one large background, and show them to your friends & family whenever you’re in the mood to recall those amazing moments you once captured. Collage making apps are widely available on several platforms including Windows, and we’ve covered plenty of them already including PictureCollageMaker, Shape Collage and Collageit, just to name a few. Today, we are bringing you a Modern UI photo collage maker for Windows 8 and Windows RT. Meet Cool Collage – a simple and easy to use app that lets you create gorgeous photo collages from your Windows 8/RT device in just a few clicks. Grab your coffee and read on.

The app allows you to create photo collages in up to six different sizes and supports resolutions of 480×800, 640×480, 1024×768, 1280×800, 1366×768 and 1920×1080. You can switch amongst these resolutions via their pertaining buttons at the top. You can also specify the background pattern to be used, and there plenty of these to choose from, ranging from tiles, circles and plain to checkered backgrounds. To insert images in your collage, you need to click or tap the Add button on the App Bar. The app bar also contains Replace All and Save Local options, allowing you to replace currently selected images and save the final collage to your local storage respectively.

Once added, the images can be rearranged, rotated, and resized according to your choice. To rotate an image, you can hold the shift key on the keyboards and use the mouse scroll wheel to spin the photo left or right. Likewise, holding the Ctrl key while moving the scroll wheel back and forth allows zooming in and out. There’s practically no limit on the total number of photos you may add to each collage. Once everything’s in place, click Save Local and specify the destination directory. The app allows saving the output file as JPEG and PNG.

The screenshot below demonstrates how the final result looks, which is fairly vivid and crisp to say the least. As you can see, the design possibilities are endless, depending on nothing but your creativity with the placement and orientation of images.

One thing lacking here is the ability to add a border to all your images in the collage automatically, as that can offer an even better Polaroid-style look, while making all images stand out from the rest.

Cool Collage works on Windows RT and both 32-bit & 64-bit editions of Windows 8. You can download the app from Windows Store using the link provided below.
