We are all excited for the Blackberry 10 launch at the end of this month. So in the days leading up to it, RIM India has tied up with Devworx to organize a coding challenge for Indian app developers. This would be a good way for Indian devs to code/port their apps to the new platform before launch and get people to adopt their app early.
Devs have to register for the contest which is being held on Devworx. They can then download the tools and SDKs for free and go about coding/porting their apps. Devs are also being given the opportunity to register as vendors on Blackberry World for free. After having developed the app, devs can then submit it to Blackberry World. Finally, the devs have to to notify Devworx when the app is published.
There are many cool prizes to be won in this challenge. The types of prizes depend on the apps you submit.
2 apps – Gift voucher worth Rs. 1,200 +3 month’s Digit Subscription (from devworx)
3-4 apps – Gift voucher worth Rs. 2,500 + Cowon Earphone (from devworx)
5-9 apps – One (1) BlackBerry PlayBook tablet
10 or more apps – One BlackBerry PlayBook and one BlackBerry Developer Alpha prototype device
The contest is open to everyone in India and ends on January 21st, so hack away!
