Swap Current Window Between Dual Monitors In A Click With DualSwap

When working with dual monitors, it can be really frustrating to continually swap windows from one monitor screen to another. DualSwap is a portable application that simplifies the window swapping process in a dual monitor setup. It sits in Windows’ system tray and monitors all active windows for quick screen-swapping.

Once launched, it automatically displays two buttons on top of the active window to allow instant window swapping. You can use these buttons to push the current window to the right or left monitor in a “snap”. The reason this method is better than dragging windows across monitors is because it can help avoid accidental clicks, which can be frequent while dragging a window around. Moreover, it is much quicker to swap windows in a single click rather than moving them through click-&-drag from one screen to another. The swapped window is shifted to the adjacent monitor without resizing, proving helpful in avoiding accidental resizing of the window through to Aero Snap.

Dual Swap

DualSwap copies itself to Start menu when it is launched for the first time, and sets itself to launch at system start up automatically. While this may be convenient for some users, others may find this functionality quite a nuisance as not everyone wants an application to auto start without asking for prior permission. You can render DualSwap inert or exit it from the system tray menu. There is also a hotkey suspension option, but the developer hasn’t specified any combination for that.

System Tray

DualSwap is an open source application which works on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
