And while books and videos are certainly helpful, one of the more fun ways to learn your way around a camera is by using an online DSLR simulator.Canon Canada has released a simulator website called Outside of Auto. The Outside of Auto website maintains that while a Canon DSLR can still take good photos in Auto the real fun starts once you begin to understand exposure and all the ways to control it. As such, the website gives users three sections to choose from: Learn, Play and Challenge.Learn sectionThe Learn section itself is then split into three sections: Home, Photography 101, and Tips. Home covers the basic exposure triangle, giving visual representations of how aperture, shutter speed and ISO all affect the final exposure. To finish off, i…

Samsung USB Connector – Micro USB To USB Converter [Review]

April 07, 2013 at 07:52PM Music, Images, Videos, Games and what not. Everything requires storage space. Some require in MB’s while other may demand GB’s of free space (take some, any racing game as an example). Although Samsung has been pepping up the inbuilt storage capacity with it’s newer Galaxy series devices. Become a public speaking pro: learning how to present the next great idea

Become a public speaking pro: learning how to present the next great idea

April 04, 2013 at 10:01PM This is the third post in a series profiling Googlers who facilitate classes as part of our g2g program, in which Googlers teach, share and learn from each other. Regardless of role, level or location, g2g's community-based approach makes it possible for all Googlers to take advantage of a variety of learning opportunities. - Ed.

“[Public speaking] is quite simple, say what you have to say and when you come to a sentence with a grammatical ending, sit down.” —Winston Churchill

In addition to my core role as Google Toronto’s agency team lead (helping to nurture relat…

Make a silent movie by talking to Chrome

Make a silent movie by talking to Chrome

March 19, 2013 at 10:33PM Last month, the Web Speech API brought voice recognition to Chrome users in more than 30 languages. We thought it would be fun to demonstrate this new technology by using an old one: silent film.

The Peanut Gallery lets you add intertitles to old black-and-white movie clips just by talking out loud while you watch them. Create a film and share it with friends, so they can bring out their inner screenwriters too.

We hope that developers will find many uses for the Web Speech API, both fun and practical—including new ways to navigate, search, enter text, and interact with the web. We can’t wait to see how people use it.
